Details

Hit the ground running when you arrive in Mexico City on this exciting journey through the heart of Centro Historico (the historic district).

Your private guide will explain the fascinating history and escort you safely through the streets, alleys, and plazas of this wonderfully vibrant area. We’ll see some of the most beautiful examples of architecture including the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace, House of Tiles, Postal Palace, and of course, Bellas Artes.

We’ll start at the Zocalo, or main plaza, where we’ll visit Templo Mayor, once a pillar of the Aztec Empire. If we’re lucky we should be able to watch a traditional conchero dance being performed.

After exploring some more buildings around the square, we’ll begin to wind our way through the alleys, stepping inside to see some of the most wonderful entryways and stained glass ceilings you’re likely to see anywhere.

Get ready to try some traditional Mexican treats as we stop by a 150-year-old sweet shop. The sugar rush will have us invigorated for the rest of the tour!

As we continue our exploration, we’ll stop in for a quick coffee to view the spectacular Bellas Artes building before a very short car ride to our final destination. Here you’ll have the chance to sample a shot of Mexico’s favorite alcoholic beverage while the festive tunes of Mariachi play a tune especially for you!

This tour is an excellent introduction to Mexico City and will leave you yearning for more. Your guide is there to help with recommendations on where to eat and assist with any questions you might have.

This was our first visit to Mexico City so we were a little nervous about our safety and decided to take a tour with Boutique Traveler. Let me say this, Rulo made us instantly feel comfortable and safe. He was funny and knowledgeable from the start. We had a wonderful experience and the learned a lot about the city, its people, and culture. My favorite part of the tour was definitely the mezcal tasting but the kids loved the sweets. If you are considering a trip to Mexico City this tour is a must.

Rulo, the guide and photographer, is knowledgeable about Mexican culture, history and cuisine, plus he is an amazing photographer. His Insta account in a proof of that (at rulo.luna). I was in awe of his skills to do it all at the same time: take pics, have meaningful conversations, get us to the best taco place, and end the tour by sunset in a colourful public space. We walked around the historic center of Mexico city, from 4ish to 7pm, while Rulo explained the story behind buildings, people and food, and answered ALL my questions about politics (and I had lots of questions). He managed to take incredible pics in spots that really capture that part of town. I'm a bit shy about being in front of the camera, but I felt super comfortable with Rulo as a photographer. He had the first edited photos 2 days after the tour! (which I find super fast compared to other photographers). My advice for people hiring Boutique Traveler is don't carry big backpacks on your tour, so you are confortable and ready for the pics. And follow Rulo's lead: he knows what he is doing!!!
